Scientific Analysis, Inc. Enhances Evidence Capabilites Through Acquisition Of Latest 3D and High Definition Scanning Technology
As a leading specialist in motor vehicle accident investigation and reconstruction, Scientific Analysis, Inc. has moved into the future of evidentiary presentation through the recent acquisition of a Leica ScanStation C10 and a Leica ScanStation2 (SS2).
Developed by Leica Geosystems, the ScanStation C10 and the SS2 provide high definition laser surveying, total surface penetration and 360 degree viewing capabilities within a matter of minutes.
“Scientific Analysis, Inc. has furthered its capabilities through this investment,” said Steve Irwin, company founder. “This technology will fulfill the advancing requirements of evidence analysis while delivering a new dimension to our capabilities. The diversity of application opens new doors, and we are excited by the growth opportunity this investment represents.”
“The C10 and the SS2 represent applied science that permits complete viewing from vantage points that have historically been unavailable. It adds the ability to completely image complex 3D objects and render them in photo-realistic detail with amazing accuracy” added Andrew Irwin, company partner.
The Leica Scan Station C 10 with “High Definition Scanning (HDSTM)” and the pioneering Leica ScanStation2 provides:
- Rapid response case capabilities, unprecedented data viewing, and instantaneous capture of 3 dimensional and high definition case information.
- Immediate collection and preservation of collateral scene information for later application. The information is stored and remains available.
- 3 dimensional laser scanning and the rapid collection of case detail at a high scanning density.
- Expedient remote capture of an entire site without scene or traffic disturbance.
- Real time capture of relevant data in one site visit in the accuracy of 5,000 data points per second and a live presentation picture.
Scientific Analysis, Inc. can employ the use of the Scan Station C 10 and ScanStation2 in an array of industry applications including Complex Engineering Models, Vineyard Planning and Design, Construction Verification, Insurance Risk Management, Golf Course & Real Estate Development, Forensic & Law Enforcement Investigations, Infrastructure Analysis, Automobile & Racetrack Design, Architectural Heritage Restoration, High Speed Rail Planning and Design, and Workplace Safety Planning.
